Located in the vibrant and eclectic community of West Asheville, The Golden Pineapple is a thoughtfully designed neighborhood bar that combines relaxed ambiance with a sophisticated edge. Our architectural team was proud to partner on this hospitality project, bringing to life a cozy yet refined space that reflects the neighborhood’s artistic energy and laid-back charm.
The vision for The Golden Pineapple was clear from the start: to create a welcoming, unpretentious bar environment that serves beer, wine, cider, and craft cocktails made with house-made ingredients and fresh produce. The design needed to support both the bar’s culinary-forward beverage program and its role as a casual community gathering space.
Our approach focused on crafting a warm and intimate atmosphere, using natural materials, ambient lighting, and a palette that nods to vintage cocktail lounges while remaining contemporary and inviting. Key design elements include a custom-built bar, which serves as the centerpiece of the space, along with comfortable seating arrangements that encourage conversation and connection.
We also prioritized efficient circulation and back-of-house functionality, ensuring that staff can work smoothly during high-traffic hours. From storage integration to bar layout and lighting control, every detail was tailored to support an elevated guest experience while maintaining operational ease.
The compact footprint of the bar required smart spatial planning to maximize comfort without compromising capacity. We worked closely with the owners to develop a layout that balances intimacy with flow, creating a hospitality space that feels as welcoming to solo patrons as it does to larger groups.
