La Bodega by Cúrate is a vibrant two-story Spanish café and wine bar located in downtown Asheville, North Carolina, thoughtfully reimagined through a complete hospitality renovation. Designed to transport guests through authentic cultural experience, the space blends food, drink, and design to celebrate the flavors and ambiance of Spain—right in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Our firm was tasked with transforming an existing structure into a dynamic, multi-level dining destination that reflects the vision of the renowned Cúrate brand. The renovation included a full interior and exterior overhaul, creating a cohesive architectural language that seamlessly connects old-world inspiration with modern hospitality design.

The first floor of La Bodega invites guests into a casual café and marketplace setting, complete with artisanal goods, Spanish wines, and a thoughtfully designed service area that supports both dine-in and grab-and-go experiences. Materials like warm wood, patterned tile, and textured plaster echo traditional Spanish interiors, while modern lighting and clean lines keep the space fresh and approachable.
Upstairs, the second floor transitions into a more intimate wine bar and dining area, offering curated wine selections and a sophisticated atmosphere for evening guests. The layout promotes comfort and connection, while curated design elements—from arched doorways to rustic-modern finishes—underscore the Spanish cultural influence.
From structural upgrades to aesthetic refinements, every element of the renovation was guided by a desire to create a space where culinary storytelling meets architectural authenticity. The result is a rich, layered environment that enhances the guest experience while supporting the operational needs of a high-performing restaurant.
La Bodega by Cúrate stands as a testament to how architectural design can elevate brand identity and cultural expression—a project that merges function, beauty, and heritage in a way that’s uniquely Asheville.
