Strength Ratio

829 Riverside Drive, Suite 117, Asheville, NC

The new Strength Ratio gym location presented a unique opportunity to transform an empty shell into a vibrant, fully functional fitness facility. Our architectural firm was engaged to lead the complete interior build-out and renovation, creating a dynamic space tailored specifically to the needs of a modern gym and its active clientele.

Originally a vacant, unfinished shell, the building required thoughtful design interventions to maximize usability, comfort, and operational efficiency. A key feature of the renovation was the installation of a large, custom garage door at the rear, which not only facilitates ventilation and natural light but also allows for seamless indoor-outdoor flow—perfect for group fitness classes, open-air training sessions, and special events.

In addition to the garage door, we designed and constructed brand-new restroom facilities, addressing the functional requirements of gym users while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards. The bathrooms feature durable, high-quality materials suited to the high-traffic nature of the facility, blending practicality with modern aesthetics.

The interior spaces were carefully planned and finished to accommodate Strength Ratio’s specialized fitness programming. Open layouts, reinforced flooring, and strategic lighting enhance workout areas, creating an energetic yet welcoming environment. Every aspect of the design focuses on user experience, from efficient circulation paths to durable finishes that stand up to daily wear and tear.

This project demonstrates our expertise in adaptive reuse and commercial renovations within the fitness and wellness industry. By converting an empty shell into a vibrant, well-equipped gym, we helped Strength Ratio establish a new community hub for health and fitness.
