Our architecture firm was tasked with transforming an empty barn structure into a fully modern and highly functional barndominium—a unique hybrid of barn and condominium that brings rural charm together with contemporary living. This adaptive reuse project involved a full interior renovation of a previously unused agricultural building, turning it into a warm, inviting, and energy-efficient home.

Working within the existing barn envelope, our design introduced a thoughtfully crafted open-concept layout that maximizes space and natural light while preserving the rustic character of the original structure. The main level features a modern kitchen and living space arranged to encourage interaction and flow—perfect for entertaining or quiet evenings at home. Exposed beams and carefully selected materials create a strong connection to the building’s agrarian roots while incorporating high-end finishes for a modern lifestyle.
The new floor plan also includes a spacious main bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, offering privacy and comfort without compromising the open feel of the home. A powder room was added for guests, and mechanical systems were upgraded throughout the building to meet current residential standards for efficiency and comfort.

On the upper floor, a generous flex space was created to serve multiple potential uses—from a home office or studio to a gaming lounge or guest suite. This multi-functional area adds adaptability to the home and supports a variety of lifestyles.
This project showcases our firm’s expertise in barndominium architecture, rural residential design, and adaptive reuse of underutilized structures. By reimagining a vacant barn into a beautiful and livable home, we helped our clients embrace both function and character—blending old and new in a way that’s timeless, sustainable, and uniquely theirs.
