Harmony House

Weaverville, NC

This custom residential project began as an incomplete structure—only the exterior shell and a few interior partition walls had been constructed when the new homeowners purchased the property. Our architecture firm was brought in to reimagine and complete the home, transforming it into a fully functional, light-filled single-family residence tailored for long-term livability and a deep connection to the surrounding landscape.

Working within the constraints of the existing footprint, we designed a layout that embraces both functionality and flexibility, allowing the home to evolve with its occupants over time. A key priority for the clients was to ensure the home would support aging in place, so we incorporated universal design principles such as a main-level primary suite, wide doorways, accessible bathroom features, and a layout that minimizes stairs while maximizing flow.

The completed home features an abundance of large windows that flood the interior spaces with natural light and frame views of the lush natural surroundings. Expansive porches on multiple sides of the home serve as seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor living, creating comfortable spaces for year-round enjoyment and connection to nature.

Interior spaces were carefully designed to promote openness, warmth, and long-term usability. An open-concept kitchen and living area provide the heart of the home, while private areas are strategically placed for quiet retreat. Energy-efficient materials and modern building systems ensure both comfort and sustainability.

This project showcases our firm’s expertise in custom home design, residential renovations, and lifestyle-forward architecture. By completing and transforming a partially built structure, we helped our clients realize their vision for a home that is not only beautiful and efficient—but one they can enjoy for decades to come.
